So today the weather was absolutely awesome for Maryland late July weather. It was 78 degrees and sunny all day. Days like this are just perfect for taking some good roads with the windows down and just enjoy the drive. I know my TDI isn't much to listen to with the windows down but it just feels and sounds better and I just love dropping it down a gear and letting the turbo spool up into a corner and letting the torque just rip me out of the corner. On that note Last night my girlfriend and I were making a quick beer run, ( Flying Dog Dead Rise Old Bay ) which I highly recommend, The TDI hit 15,000 miles so I feel its not a bad time to give it a quick review. I've realized in the past 15,000 miles that the jetta as actually seriously under rated for how fun it is and how well it handles. It's no sports car but if I throw it into a corner the tires will scream but it's no slouch. It's way harder to understeer than I thought it would be considering how badly 4th gen golfs and jettas understeer. Also its not the most powerful car in the world but as far as real world usable power its it way better than the average 4cyl. Because if all the torque the diesel has it can pull way harder inside of a normal rev range than any car. Even the mustang when i had that couldn't pass cars like this thing can. Today I was on a 2 lane highway with dotted lines the car in front of me was doing 35 in a 55 so I just laid into it a little bit in 4th gear and it went from 35 to 75 so easily once it got boost all in less than 750 rpms and I didnt even shift into 5th till I got to 75 on the other side of the car. Just this combo makes for a super enjoyable daily drover that gets phenomenal fuel milage. Plus the manual makes the car so much more enjoyable because of the on demand torque. Also as far as how the car has been serving in everyday purposes, it has been great too. It gets around as it should and hasn't had a single issue. And it has made two road trips so far this summer one of which was to Firefly Music Festival and I basically lived out of the car and it served perfectly and got 52 miles a gallon on the way !

Also I took another road trip to Tennessee in my girlfriends fathers Excursion and saw some of the best roads and road tripping I've experienced in my life.

In other news I mad be getting to drive my dads new Tacoma a lot more due to a few family issues. Basically its not going to be getting driven by anyone so I'll have free reign of it for a while which is kind of exciting.
